Me, myself and I:
I was born in Kenya, raised in California, spent a few awkward years in NYC and Chicago and now live in Nashville, TN with Husband and three dogs; Tigger the Dog, Pepper, and Joseph/Joe Boxer.
I began creating copper trees after Husband rewired the house and left me with a plethora of material. I find it satisfying to manipulate the wire into something I find beautiful. I celebrate each imperfection in both the wire and the wood as they morph into something I find aesthetically pleasing.
Why 'iamwhaleshark'?
When I was going through a very rough time in my life, I decided to get a ‘breathe’ tattoo on my wrist in the hopes I remember to breathe. After two child stars with ‘breathe’ tattoos imploded, I decided to go with ‘inhalexhale’ instead.
“Why did you get Whale Shark tattooed on your wrist?" asked the Mom.
“Why in the hell would I get WHALE SHARK tattooed on my wrist???” I shouted back.
“Well," she said, oh so calmly, "It would be rather silly.” And went about her day...
And so 'iamwhaleshark' I am.
I am not an English major. Spelling, grammar or punctuation without the help of my many electronic devices, my dictionary - when I can find it - and my mother is a challenge for me. This site does not have an editor and so there will be many, many, many mistakes. If I've screwed up royally, please feel free to let me know. I might actually fix it.

Random (and probably not totally accurate) Whale Shark facts:
Whale Sharks are actually fish - the largest fish in the ocean. The are also not whales but are sharks. Fun fact: they are not sexually mature until 25 year old! (How fantastic would that be for the human race?) They have few pregnancies but when they are pregnant, the Whale Shark pups develop completely INSIDE the mother – up to 300 of them at a time! Sad fact: They are a delicacy in some cultures - one Whale Shark fin is worth up to $10,000 - they are hunted and are slowly disappearing.
International Whale Shark Day is August 30th.
