These pieces are made from reclaimed copper wire pulled from our own walls during the re-wiring of our house, found objects and the twists and turns of my own imagination. One of the oldest metals ever used, Copper one of the important materials in the development of civilization and essential to all living organisms. I enjoy working with copper because it is soft and malleable and changes as it ages, much like a living tree. I enjoy how it catches the light, forms shadows on walls and evokes images of timelessness. These Stabby Trees are my homage to the beauty of Mother Nature.
No tree, mobile or flower is alike but similar ones can be created should you see one that speaks to you... The trees in the gallery below are one of a kind and the gallery will be will be updated soon, to reflect the trees still available for purchase once I get my brain to focus on something other than my revolving door of worries.
Warning: Stabby Trees are not just a cute name. The trees are dangerous. Handle with care.
